Of all them(which included the Old Course) RCD was the only time I got goosebumps. Standing at the crest of the 9th is simply an amazing experience and the dunes need to be seen to be believed. The layout through, up and over the dunes has beautiful views and is mostly amazing. If the course has any faults they may be found at the 15th (which requires a blind lay up) and the 17th (hidden pond) which looks somewhat out of place against the rest of the course. The greens are usually quite fast and when the course is dry it provides a stern test. No question this would be one of the world's best places to enjoy all aspects of a round of golf. Better than Portrush, although both are amazing. Stay next door to County Down at the large hotel Slieve Donard. Eat at the pub, play County Down twice and you will think it is one of the greatest ever. I agree that walking up #9 with the beautiful view of the steeple, and mountains is unreal. Some great holes, and a must if you are in IrelandChad Snoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20412896.post-45494364811697377882009-12-13T07:58:17.897-08:002009-12-13T07:58:17.897-08:00I might expect a more thorough review for two cour...I might expect a more thorough review for two courses of this caliberJuliushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15104998683684670278noreply@blogger.com
