It does not surprise me some members shot into your group. Most of them were never happy with the conditions of the course, even though it was maintained at or near Championship Level on a daily basis. They constantly complained about the pin placements. Basically they were never happy. Superintendent Stan George did a exceptional job, and he will be sorely missed around there. So exciting to see a guy of that caliber play the course. Have played in 30+ mph winds which make the course, somewhat... unplayable. Amazing views on most holes. Memorable track! Have watched two events there, Womens US Open and Mens Senior. Seen players miss their ''spot'' on a green and end up with a double bogey from a somewhat certain birdie. That is how tough the pin places are.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20412896.post-60767561858121281142011-03-24T18:53:04.291-07:002011-03-24T18:53:04.291-07:00I played prarie about 2 years ago and had an asbso...I played prarie about 2 years ago and had an asbsolute blast. As fun of a golf course as one could find. Coming from the West Coast, my friend and I were blown away by the cars in the parking lot of such a fantastic course, buicks, old ford taurus', etc, very refreshing.

I would completely agree with the author's charactiization of Hutchinson. My buddy and I ended up at a bar for a cold beer after the round on Main street and couldn't how dilapidated the town was. For those who commented that this was a classic American town, they may be correct. However, this isn't a town that will have any participatory role in the future of our country.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20412896.post-51639939929736507502010-05-29T18:56:09.433-07:002010-05-29T18:56:09.433-07:00People who deliberately hit into groups ahead - es...People who deliberately hit into groups ahead - especially habitually - have no place in golf nor on any golf course. The town's largest employers are NOT the prisons, but Dillons and the regional hospital. Also, Hutchinson is not by any means a "boarded up" town. The town has weathered magnificently through the economic recession. It's a shame you did not take the time to examine the Kansas Cosmosphere and Space Center while in town; it is one the premier space museums in the entire world.crimsonbluehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11523530614159384509noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20412896.post-28978294062993666842008-08-14T13:03:00.000-07:002008-08-14T13:03:00.000-07:00I would echo the comments of the earlier writer. ...I would echo the comments of the earlier writer. Hutchinson, Kansas is as All-American as "hot dogs, baseball, apple pie and Chevrolet" to coin a phrase. Part of what I believe makes Prairie Dunes such a special place is simply the fact that you have about as much chance running into a teacher or mechanic as you do a Doctor or Lawyer. This town personifies the midwest.

Also, would like to appologize for the poor behavior of a few members that in your eyes have tarnished the club.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20412896.post-87763411150518905302008-07-17T18:12:00.000-07:002008-07-17T18:12:00.000-07:00Good insight on the course. Hutchinson is a "main street American" town, where high school football, country music, bbq, and the rodeo are popular. For those out of town visitors from the east and west coast, it may seem dingy, but this is the American Heartland where our ties to faith, family and community are strong.
As for the group hitting into you, please don't let that be a deterrent to your experience at Prairie Dunes. 99.9% of the people are great, friendly, small town folk. Keep up the nice work.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20412896.post-6681445876040305142008-01-10T17:52:00.000-08:002008-01-10T17:52:00.000-08:00Love your blog, but had to correct one thing.
