The course closes in the summer when it's too hot. Aside from the greens and tees I don't believe they water the course by design, it plays fast and firm which is the way it was intended to so that the golfer gets a lot of bouncing around and uncertainty on their tee shots by design.Top 100 Golferhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16730165824981497579noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20412896.post-77840657069429959122017-06-28T18:01:30.393-07:002017-06-28T18:01:30.393-07:00Love the history and clubhouse and enjoyed the loc...Love the history and clubhouse and enjoyed the locker room pictures... Typically at Seminole (like a lot of private clubs like this) you're not allowed to pay for the greens fees or the caddies, they can only be charged to the member's account. Some do allow you to pay caddies directly or you can reimburse the member for the caddies fees. My guess on Seminole is the round probably costs them $150-200 and the caddies $40-$50 in tip above and beyond their normal fee. If you make a hole-in-one, tip them $100!! Good luck.

JohnTop 100 Golferhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16730165824981497579noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20412896.post-54325190455065856442016-03-30T08:32:51.415-07:002016-03-30T08:32:51.415-07:00I'll be playing Seminole in late April. Probably due to the heavy influence the USGA executive (and past executive) members have on the course rankings.

Seminole has a LOT of very weak holes, including #1, #7, #9, #10, #14 (I believe, short par 4 on edge of property) come to mind, and only a few really, really good holes (#3, #4, #18).

The place, for better or worse, is a bit of a factory for guest play, and therefore they treat guests a bit like tourists - move em through quickly and send em home.

Course is usually in outstanding condition, and the greens are kept firm and fast. Seeing to clubhouse brings back some memories. That circular driveway had the club manager's Ferrari parked there all the time. By the way he ran the club as an adjunct to his real job. It truly has great history and ambience but I find the course to be average at best. Come play Seminole under the same conditions that competitors play in the Coleman Cup and you'll see exactly what the course is made of. It is undoubtedly one of the most elite and exclusive in the country as well. Like I read on another post, it plays differently almost every day. Every hole is truly unique and the set of par 3's is arguably the best in the country, only to be compared to Shinnecock's. Not only is the golf course a wonderful test and layout, the aura of the club is outstanding and the membership is made-up of the classiest and most respectful people I've ever worked for at a golf course. Never have I ever been mistreated or felt like I was not truly respected. I can't possibly provide a compliment that will surmount to the way I feel about this golf club. I take pride in caddying at the golf course and in providing members and guests with the best experience possible. What other top ten golf course in the country can caddies play seven days a week? I sure don't know of any other. It is a true reflection of what level of class this golf club is made up of. I need not say more.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20412896.post-16297699060000105292011-05-19T18:27:28.104-07:002011-05-19T18:27:28.104-07:00Simply put....anyone that feels this course is ove...Simply put....anyone that feels this course is overrated doesn't have a clue about golf course architecture!Toni Macaroninoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20412896.post-43566866861614048442011-05-04T18:45:04.102-07:002011-05-04T18:45:04.102-07:00I have played Seminole several times and it is won...I have played Seminole several times and it is wonderful golf course and an ok club.
