The cabins are absolutely fine and within walking distance of the clubhouse and a pretty reasonable meal at all times of the day. The main restaurant is located at the sister course at Lost Farm - about 3 k's away.
Both courses are fine and you will have a tough day if it is windy. If it is calm, you will eat it up. It is a tough walk but it is the best way to enjoy it.
For comparisons, I would prefer the new course at King Island - Cape Wickham - but if you can combine both locations in the one trip, I would do that.
I personally think that Barnbougle/Lost Farm are overrated - I prefer locations such as The National complex is superior - but it is a personal thing. Best answer is to try them all of course.Tom Wnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20412896.post-8662523877412134432013-04-05T15:33:33.454-07:002013-04-05T15:33:33.454-07:00Great review. Also, their transportation provider we used who was good, Rexy's has a link on their website.Top 100 Golferhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16730165824981497579noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20412896.post-1787698026430003982010-07-19T17:39:12.972-07:002010-07-19T17:39:12.972-07:00Thanks for your comments. I forget exactly how much it was, but very reasonable, especially if you are traveling in a group. Also, when we took the van from the airport, others took it as well, thus reducing the cost. Food is cheap as compared to Sydney, New York, London, etc. It is a pleasant surprise and people in Tasmania and at Barnbougle are VERY welcoming and appreciate the visitors. Hope you enjoy it.Top 100 Golferhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16730165824981497579noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20412896.post-7325549413927972442010-07-19T17:29:59.354-07:002010-07-19T17:29:59.354-07:00I'm travelling to AUS (Sydney) at the end of A...I'm travelling to AUS (Sydney) at the end of August -- any recommendations on how to make arrangements to play Barnbougle? And could you be so kind as to include estimated costs? (I've seen room rates and green fees on the course website, but what about meals, transportation, etc?)

Thanks so much! You didn't enjoy the 12th? I think that is also a great hole, always tempting the golfer to try and take on more off the tee and paying for it.robhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06319301606561227566noreply@blogger.com
